Iszoloscope. This was intoduced to me very resently but I've been listening to it alot. Style ranges from Darkambient through Darkpsy into Industrial and Breakcore.
Maruosa!! Japanese Speed/Breakcore!! Insane xD
Passenger of Shit.. The name speaks for itself I guess...
The Outside Aggency. Newest EP and new album on the way! =D
Deathmachine. Newest EP of niceness!
Last up is The Teknoist. Another free ep! A bit more downtempo... SlowCore? Whatever, I'm tired!
First up is Matta and Niveau Zero! They made a collaboration EP and it's out on Adnoise Am (and Niveau Zero got more on the way).
Resently there was a remix competition for Niveau Zero's "First (feat. The Unik)" and someone called Llamatron won. Embeded below is one of my favorite tracks from him that I found because of the contest. WARSTEP!!!
I don't know anything about "Latino Resiste", but I really like this track from something called Latino Resiste Vol 1 (full album on mediafire link found on their soundcloud profile!?).
This track by Two Fingers (Amon Tobin) has apparently been on soundcloud for a year, but the album "Stunt Rythms" is brand new! More dubstep than on the first Two Fingers album but still awesome Amon Style!!
Last track is by Zardonic & Krusha. Brostep, and the album is a mixed pleasure with some pretty weak tracks (lots of trance-inspired-vocals) but there are some real pearls on it too with Mechagodzilla being the best imo. Found it because DJ Hidden had it on a nice DJ set he made.
This is going to be a mess but I think most of theese tracks fit the same basic mood (Melancholy), but they are pretty widespread, genre-wise.
Here we go!
The album Hollow by Known Rebel is pretty awesome. Apart from nice tracks it also features remixes by personal favourites like 2methylBulbe1ol and Access to Arasaka. It's out on Tympanik.
And another Denovali artist, Sankt Otten.
Then there is ESA (anotherone from Tympanik). The album is pretty high tempo and pretty much Cyber-EBM but the track below is more mellow.
I found Lorn because someone on a forum called him Depression Incarnated. I'm not sure I agree but it certanly is very melancholic, and the new album Ask the Dust is my newest addition to the vinyl collection =)
Oh and while we are at nice videos on vimeo the new Stendeck video for the track Catch the Midnight Girl is also quite good. But BEWARE now we move out of melancholia and into something a bit lighter and optimistic so if you want to stay in the mood stop watching.
The final track is by Scuba and from his new album Personality. It's sort of a revival of 90's UK rave I think, and it's alot like 90's Underworld.
By the way I apologize for not doing more research and linking to more info about the bands. I don't really have the energi for that kind of effort right now.
Two tracks.
First up is a video some crazy person made for an Igorrr (Half of Whourkr) track. He cut it down so it's only the metal part and not the main breakcore part, but the video is just so nice =)
And then there is SUMA! Again something I saw at Loppen and just loved from begining to end
I found a lable called Denovali (!Beware of embeded musicplayer that turns on when you enter!) that have a lot of nice darkambient stuff.
First up is Bersarin Quartett. I don't know anything about them.
Next is AUN. I saw them @ Loppen with 8 other people and it was amazing! I was resident DJ and put some of the stuff I posted in the last darkambient post on =)
Hmmm I guess I have no more darkambient for you right now. Sorry =(
Last post for now. Just wanted to let everyone kow that Larvae have a new album out on Ad Noiseam called Exit Strategy that is pure ear candy. He even made a nice video to the title track (featuring robots!!!).
Did I already post some Holy Fuck? If I did it was probably the track Red Lights because of the cat-urlicious video, but below is my favorite track from them. Epic Symphonic Goodness!
I present to you my new favorite thing! Whourkr is the two artists Igorrr and Mulk who are working together to create insanity! I would describe the music as sort of a mix between Breakcore and Deathmetal.
I guess thats all for now, so I'm gonna throw in a track from one of Whoyrkr's older albums ;)
A little extra goodies =)
Amon Tobin (of Ninja Tunes fame) made a Remix album of his amazing Splinter Cell 3 - Chaos Theory soundtrack. Aprently it's being used as the soundtrack for Splinter Cell 3D. Or something.
And Dope D.O.D. is Dutch hardcore grime with lots of wobble. The Album "Branded" is sort of a mixed experience but there are some pretty fucking cool tracks on it!
Time for some more dubstep!
First up is 2methylBulbe1ol (again). He made a new EP called Golem (Soundcloud) and it's awesome. The track below is the chill track of that EP.
Then we have Scorn. I don't think all of their albums are dubstep, but the album I'm listening to currently is. It's called "Stealth".
Then we have the Björk's "Biophilia Remix Series". The track is the b-side of the first of this series with 2 remixes by Current Value. They both kick all kinds of ass.
Karsten Pflum from DK. He have an awesome release on Hymen called No Noia My Love where he mixes his regular style with dubstep elements! Sadly the more "Dubsteppy" tracks aren't on youtube. Heres is a link to Hymen's stupid site that uses frames so I can't link directly to anything >|
Remember I posted some Vex'd? Here's part of that duo going by the alias Jamie Vex'd. He makes strange post dubstep now apparently.
Finaly Clubroot just released a new album, "MMXII". It's really good, so get your hands on it somehow.
It seems like there's some problem with my soundcloud links in previous posts. Untill I find out why they no longer work I'll just post youtube links instead.
First up is The Soft Moon. I don't know alot about this guy but I DO know that he is playing at Loppen on may 22. Come see it if your in town! The style is dark and lowfi but also futuristic at the same time. 120 Days is actualy pretty well known but I will promote them anyway because I really like them and they are playing Roskilde this year.. So yeah.. Go see them if you're going =) They are much more upbeat, and danceable than The Soft Moon. Astronautalis is an US based Hiphop/Indietronica artist who I have alot of respect for. I have never seen someone alone on stage, with nothing but a microphone and a labtop (for backtrack), that had such an amazing stage presence. Tjek THIS video for the same song I embeded below in an incredible live version (bevare of a short "Dell Summer Rocks" intro before the song starts). Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip is English Hiphop/Electro but I will lump them into this indietronica post for my own convenience. You've probably heard Thou Shalt Always Kill but if you haven't heard the rest of Angles you should. The embeded song below is from their second album The Logic of Chance and though the vibe is a bit different it really grew on me the more I heard it.
Mutated Metal will not follow any specific genre of metal but will mostly be about Technical, (Post)Black, Drone and Experimental/Avant Garde Metal. Animals As Leaders are very technical, almost jazz like, instrumental Djent from the US. Blut Aus Nord is a French black metal band. So far I have only heard the "777 Sect(s)" album, but I'm working on that error. Altar of Plagues is Irish Black/Post/Drone-Metal. They have a massive sound and loooong tracks (the first track on the album "Mammal" is close to 20 minuttes). Monarch is an international drone-like metal band, with the current members living all around the world. I told the drummer that I felt they played a unique mix of the styles of "Sunn O)))" and "Earth" and he didn't seem offended so that would be my best description. Distorted Guitar Feeds, Slow (and I mean REALLY slow) drumming and the distorted screams of vokalist Emilie Bresson. Oh and even longer tracks than Altar of Plagues.
Indie with strong roots in electronic music like Downbeat and IDM. And the term indie shoudn't be confused with indiepop or indierock but more as a type of free hybrid music. 180° Virvar are Danish and have a new album in the works. Ugress are from Norway and have loads of albums out. I can especially recomend Cinematronics. Sällskapet is a project of Swedish musician Joakim Thåström where he goes into dark and somtimes ambient-like indietronica. Ekko is the solo project of Frithjof Toksvig, who you might know from Mikael Simpsons liveact "Mikael Simpson & Sølvstorm". He is also part of "Vi Sidder Bare Her", with Simpson and Jørgen Leth !BEWARE DANISH BEYOND THIS LINK! HTRK is Australian group that you should check out live if you ever get the chance!
I haven't explored this genre that much yet, so only a few tracks at this time. The genre can best be described as Hardcore with healthy doses of Drum'n'Bass, IDM and Breakcore.
Ok there is gonna be alot of these because I'm really into Darkstep, Drumstep, Industrialstep and so on. All of these artists (exept 2methyl) have releases on Ad Noiseam which is an awesome label.
This first post is about Cyber Glitch. I'm not sure that is an actual genre but it's the most descriptive words for this type of music. All of these artists are on Tympanik and if you like this kind of music you can find more artists there.
